Ode too the Christmas Astronomer

"Twas the night before xmas
and all through the house
not a creature was stirring except
for my old man with his
trusty telescope in hand"

Observatory open
camera clicking
mount slewing
merrily all through the night
as he tried to get a sub or two in
before the big day.

Then with aplumb the house was awoken
when all through the house dad ran screaming
"Bah Humbug the silly old buggers with his reindeer so bright
has ruined my lights, Rudolph with his red nose shining"

As my dad sat a weeping we wished him some cheer
told him Santa will probably bring him
some astronomy gear

Then with a fright we heard a loud crash
so we ran outside and there was a sight
Santa and his trusty sliegh had flattened
dads favourite hideaway"

Merry xmas too all. no observing for me in Perth tonight clouded over

Clouds are gone, stars are bright
Whirring drive gears turning the newt
Snapping long subs, boy are they beaut
Piccies, they came out so sweet

Jingle bells, what the hells
Subs have gone all crap
Drive's gone wrong, files are gone
I wish it wasn't that.....Oh

Lenses fogged, gears are clogged
SBIG camera's fried
That's the night the lightning struck
Next day I bloody cried
