I have a Meade tripod with the 492 Motor Drive Kit and the 494 Autostar Computer Controller. It has a custom made attachment that allows a camera to be attached to it. It is an ideal portable mount for wide field SLR astrophotgraphy. Great for someone starting out in astrophotography- it's how I was hooked 2 years ago! I have used a Minolta 7D camera body (very heavy!) with a 135mm lens on it and have successfully taken 30 second and 60 second tracked exposures. I have also used an Olympus E500 with a 200mm lens with equally good results. I also tried a 400mm with the Minolta 7D body. I was able to get good 30 second exposures, but I feel this is the weight limit of the mount. PRICE DROP
