Try an alternative browser to Internet Explorer too!

Jen, the first thing I do when IE does something stupid is to delete all the temporary files and cookies.

I hear you Jen, Everything was o.k for me earlier today but now it is taking forever to open anything.
At least it's good to know it's not just me.

Yup! There does indeed seem to be a problem.
I've been popping in and out of the web today between other jobs and I've had no problems at all.
Tonight is a totally different story though. It's never taken so long to load pages before and it's only this site.
I'm using Firefox not IE as a browser, so I don't know that blaming IE is the correct solution.
Is the site up for maintenance or something?

Yep pretty ordinary today and this evening .... Hotmail was also pretty hopeless earlier today and my wife struck problems in her fav blogs sites on Google.

IE is our browser.

Poor Internet performance may have something to do with wet telephone lines due to all the rain we've had in recent days.

It'll all return to normal soon.

Humayun

G'Day Jen,
I use IE7 and I set the override cookies, which means it prompts me for each cookie that a web site tries to put on my machine,if your not sure how to do it,try this. Go to Tools click on Internet Options, click on Privacy, click on Advanced, click on Override automatic cookie handling, then click Prompt on Both sides.so from now on a requester will pop up asking you to accept the cookie, also leave the Always allow session cookies blank,if you want to keep a cookie you can either click on yes and click on remember or click on no and remember, just make sure that the site your on if you want to keep it just for the one visit.I should also mention that a few weeks ago maybe more,I noticed that when I went onto IIS. Goggle.com,Doubleclick and one which started with 207 something popped up,I of course clicked on no and remember, also I never accept a cookie from IIS either.Has anybody else seen these cookies that I mentioned above? seems strange that they have only shown up recently.
Cheers
Arthur
P.S. You should also download this programme CCleaner it's free and I have been using it for a few years now, with no problems. http://www.ccleaner.com

IceInSpace has no popups, malware, spyware or anything like that. It uses standard software such as flash and java, and the cookies are from standard vBulletin professional software.

There are no performance issues with IceInSpace now, or in the past few days. So I guess it must be something related to your ISP connecting to the IceInSpace server (which is hosted in the US).

G'Day Jen,
I forgot to mention,as this can also slow down your connection speed, check to see what programs are going on the Internet without your permission,I have my Firewall set for programs to ask first before going onto the Internet. You would be amazed at how many programs go to the web sites for update ect. without your permission.like Goggle updater,MS feeds etc, although I did turn off MS feeds,a waste of bandwidth.
Cheers
Arthur
