M38 & Ngc1907

HI all,

I have not been able to go imaging because of my finals and thesis discussion, so yesterday night, thinking of milky way skies, I reprocessed M38 and NGC1907!

This one came out to be 24 minutes @ ISO800.
Pentax 105 SDHF
EM200 unguided
Canon 40D

I would really appreciate comments and suggestion for the post-processing, because I had a bit of a hard time with this one. I'm not sure about the color balance (of background and stars).

Great target pairing. Background and stars look ok to me. I feel you've managed the colours quite well. DDP can work wonders with managing stellar profiles, just be careful it doesn't make them too soft as it will accommodate the entire dynamic range. You may need to use levels to raise the white point after DDP to get them looking a crisp. Well done. I'm guessing you've encounters no mysterious sightings around Area 51 - no weird looking flying objects or glowing lights...

Thank you very much Jase! I have just began using DDP in Nebulosity so I'm still getting used to it!

No strange objects flying around Area 51 here in South Florida. Just clean beautiful skies!
