Question Sunset Photos over Brisbane Water (HDR)

On the night of the Smiley Face Conjunction, before the sun set and the conjunction was visible, I was able to capture some dramatic sunset scenes over Brisbane Water, from Yattalunga and Green Point on the Central Coast of NSW.

I captured and processed these using HDR techniques. It’s a fairly new technique for me and not everyone is a fan of the type of images it can produce - sometimes producing unrealistic fairytale type images, or with halo artefacts, depending on the extent of the processing.

I used Photomatix and Photoshop for processing.

More (and larger images) here:

I'm keen for your feedback.

Cheers

Beautiful images, Mike.

I like Nos 1, 2 and 7 the most. The others look a little overcompressed for my liking.

Al.

I must say, from the thread title I thought you had been up here in Brisney land!

Great shots Mike,

I love all this HDR stuff.

I like 1,2,3,4,5,6 & 7 but the rest are crap.

Hi Mike,

Really nice shots. All really good. 3,4 & 5 are the most compelling.

Best Regards

Gary
