Venus from Brisbane

I was inspired enough by tonight's lunar-venus-jove 'smiley face' conjunction to set up and capture some AVIs of Venus.

I've not imaged this planet for a while, but it's quite well placed at the moment.

I can't wait until my new UV filter arrives, so I can capture more definite detail in the Venusian cloud tops.

Until then...it's good old RGB.

If you look closely, you can still make out a hint of ruddy (brownish) detail cutting across the central region of the planet...and there's a little more at lower left.

Anyway, it's my contribution to mark a special evening

Nah...no widefields, Dave.

I figured there'd be plenty coming from everyone else....and I see they are rolling in nicely as we speak/write.
