Wow – I’ve missed the last couple of comps and I see the talent has certainly grown around these parts. Great entries everyone, they had my head in a spin trying to allocate only 3 votes!
Cheers

Congrats on the 1st place Deeno, with a very dynamic shot that almost leaps out of the screen!
A big well done to all the other entrants; I really enjoyed browsing the gallery to see everyone’s interpretation.
Cheers

Congratulations Deeno! A great action shot with the arty frame tilt!
I must say I thought the subject matter and caption almost gave away who's photo it was ... but it didn't affect my voting!

Great shot Deeno, very well composed, sharp and dynamic. Mike's shot was very artistic as well, very hard to separate them... as shown by the voting.

Wow!!!Don't believe it.
This is one hard competition to win. Competition is always so tough. Usually I lack the creativity to get a look in but, I can pan....
Congrats to all the other entries, particularly Mike, thought I was dead in the water with that one.
Couple of quick details. The rider is Casey Stoner during the 2006 Moto GP at Phillip Island. Getting it all hooked up and driving out of Siberia. First use of my D200 with the trusty old 70-200mm Nikor lens. 1/500sec, f5.6 and iso 200 at 200mm
As we are renowned internationally as a bit of a sporty lot, thought this month’s theme might be..... "This sporting life".
Thanks everyone
Deeno

Hi Deeno,
Congratulations on a superb shot, technically spot on, pin sharp and right on subject.
"This sporting life" is a good theme too, but come on you guys, where were you last month? Only 9 entries?? Surely we can do better than that. It is far more interesting if we have more people entering.
And where were the rest of the Queenslanders?? There was only one of me this month.

Thanks Photo Challenge, RB, firstlight and Deeno for your encouraging comments.
My wife and I were going out to dinner one evening, and she was driving, so I had the opportunity of looking at the shops as we were going past. I saw the bikes hanging up in a cycle shop in Auchenflower, and thought it would make a good subject, so I went back a couple of days later armed with a camera.

Yes I agree Mike, let's see some more entries everyone.
It's fun to see everyone's ideas and what they come up with.
Get out there and take some shots and enter the comp.
To bad this month's topic is "The Sporting Life", don't think we'll see many Queenslander submissions.

That's a serious libel, and has to be defended!!
I call on all Queenslanders, and in particular earthlight, firstlight, Dennis, Edwardsdj, Astro-south, Alex_N, Robert_T, StevenM, matt, striker, jjjnettie, as well as the others, to submit entries this month, and show the southern Bar-Stewards that the Photo-Challenge really belongs to Queensland.
Get thinking, NOW.

Sorry Mike - I had a large dump truck shot lined up from a mine, but someone beat me to it I was going to get something else but work got in the way towards the end of the month . For those not in the know, the Brisbane (or very near Brisbane) entrants were about to go through the year undefeated, and it took a cracking shot from Deeno to get in the way too. Oh well - possibly 11 out of 12 is still pretty reasonable for the year
Oh, and congrats Deeno, great shot and an interesting subject.
