Venus, Jupiter and Crescent Moon on 30th Nov

Hi all

Did some reconnaisance last night to find a suitable location to photograph the Smiley Face Conjunction tonight.

I found a nice place at Yattalunga, near Saratoga on the Central Coast of NSW. Here are the shots I took. Yattalunga is good, and suitable for tonight, just a bit limited with available compositions. If the tide was higher it would allow a bit more flexibility.

Not sure now if I want to go somewhere else - maybe back to the old favourite at Long Jetty or further north at the Entrance.

Anyway here are the images.
1200px wide versions here.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice shots, Mike!

Beautiful foreground interest. Superb.

There's nothing like the Brisbane Waters up this way...

Very nice Mike.
I haven't decided if/where I'm going to try for an image yet.
This event will be very popular and reminds me of the days of McNaught when we were all scrambling to find the best "location".

Lovely shots Mike. Number 3 is my favourite; the tendrils of pastel pink clouds and the overall composition are very pleasing.

Cheers

Dennis
