Flooded Creek - Brisbane

Hi all,

I don't have much experience with photography but I borrowed a camera today and took a few quick shots of the nearby flooded creek here in stormy Brisbane - Auto setting since I don't know any better.

One of these looked alright and I grayscaled it and did a bit of processing on the concrete path to bring out the contrast and show the whole scene in a different light. Only learned how to use layers a couple of weeks ago.

My newbie eyes tell me the camera could have been lower to highlight some of the texture of the ground and closer to the water as the concrete path is taking up too much of the shot. Some more contrast in the trees might have been good too. I think photography might become a hobby after this. It was enjoyable from the moment I was picturing the shot in my mind (prior to taking it) through to the final image processing.

Anyway enjoy.

Ash,

That's actually really rather nice.

I'd probably crop out the sky. It would make the image seem a bit more... natural?

Anyway, welcome to the yet-another-expensive-hobby club.

Regards,
Humayun
