Bagged 2 new PN

The last 2 night were pretty good (last night was the best one this year) so I've managed to see 2 new PN.

First one was M76. It's invisible to the naked eye from where I live. With Skyglow it's visible but you need to know where to look at. With Ultrablock it was easy. Bit to easy. Just point and look. It looked a bit like this: M76. It had 2 bright regions near the edges and a black part in the middle. It was pretty large since this sketch was made with a magnification of 240x.

The other one was PK64+15.1. It's visible in Lyra. This one is at the limit of my current equipment. With the Ultrablock it was a very faint round blob only visivle for 50% of the time. I hope that the OIII would help but still .... . Sketch was made @ 240x. PK64+15.1 is just 0.3'x0.3' large and has a magnitude of 13.3 (surface brightness 10.33).

M76 is an intersting planetary. To me it looks like a neat little bowtie =)

I have yet to see that one. It is a little bit too low from where I currently observe (Brisbane) although I might try for it when I go home to visit my parents in Malaysia. Its much higher up at the equator But its great to get observing reports on stuff we don't get to see from down under

Lets just hope that the OIII will give me the chance to view some other, faint planetaries. During the same night when I bagged PK64+15.1 I also went for M2-51 but couldn't catch it.

Anyway, here's a picture of PK64+15.1. Nothing fancy as you can see .
