Best of Luck !! I could be looking to get rid of my Skywatcher 120mm f/5 next year as I do intend to either buy an 8" GSO RC or Vixen scope but giveaway might be pushing the friendship

Cheers

Join a club? Some have scopes to borrow after a period of membership. Snake Valley AA has scopes you can use at the club site.

Hi Matt, I think you'll find most people will sell their scopes to fund their next telescope purchase.

You could save a few pennies and get a pair of binoculars and download a starchart off the net to get yourself started. Even a $100 pair will give you some great views of the sky.

Cheers

Anyway Matt, please let us know if your strategy works out. This could put a whole new light on the field of cheap astronomy.

I have a 60mm wobbletronic that you're welcome to.
But you'd get infinitely better views through a cheap pair of 7x35mm or 10x50mm binoculars.
I'm not kidding, binoculars really truely are the way to go.
