Dumbbell with 8 inch newt and Canon 300D

had another go at the Dumbbell, this time with the 8 inch Newt..still a challenge from my backyard as it doesn't get all that high above the house to the North..think it is directly above the whirly thingy on my roof

Camera: Canon 300d (unmodified)
Scope: Celestron C8 NGT -CG5 Mount
autoguided-guidedog
Filter: Astronomik CLS
Location: Suburban Sydney
Details; Stack of three 10 minute exposures at ISO 400
Processing : registration and Stacking in IRIS
Post Processing: Photoshop
Noise: Neatimage
comments and feedback welome

BTW this was on 19 August- I think the variable star flared on the 22nd so I just missed it

Nice Job Narayan pleanty of deatail and colour , I would like to see the same shot from a dark site for sure mate . I'm sure at 10minutes subs you would of been battling a lot of sky glow in your processing . Having said that let me say that It still looks very good mate !

thanks for the nice comments. Yes Louie, it is a bear to deal with the light pollution when trying to image the Ring or Dumbbell nebulae from Sydney, as they are so low in the Northern sky.

Nice catch narayan. How do you find guidedog for autoguiding and dealing with stars that would be jumping around so close to the northern horizon.

Guidedog works -but only just, I had it set for 2 plus second exposure on the guide camera

It lost the guidestar from time to time but since I was reasonably well polar aligned, the software was able to "re-lock" after missing one cycle

I lost at least one (10 minute) image because I completely lost the guide star..I was inside watching TV....and came back to some abstract art
