Another SMC @ 200mm f5.6

Hello again all you peeps...

Another go at the SMC - fizzy little so and so!!

Details...

Canon 40D (modded)
Canon 70-200mm f4L lens, 200mm @ f5.6 (+ IDAS LPS filter)
Skywatcher Synscan EQ5 mount
Autoguided with PHD

10x600sec, iso 800

ICNR on, but no flats.


Stacked in Images Plus, processed in PS.

Noisy!!!

Ah Doug plenty of fizzy stuff as you say, in that one mate, your not going to give up are ya, nice work indeed.

Maybe a bit of noise but it has come out pretty well. I reckon

Yea that would be helpful, it is position a bit out of the way, I even had trouble the other night getting PHD to lock onto a guide star.

Hey Doug,

Think this is much better than the previous - a lot cleaner and sharper. The last one was ISO 1600 and no ICNR if I remember.

Re iso...I'm slowly learning that objects like the SMC and LMC benefit from the lower iso settings. I'm just greedy using iso1600 - want to grab as much data in the shortest time.
