What Does 15" Mean In My Camera Manual Mode ?

hi all

my canon A580 has a manual mode

ive had a look on the web ect ect

in which i can set a long shutter mode from 1" to 15" and some in between

numbers are 1" 1"3 1"6 2" 2"5 3"2 4" 5" 6" 8" 10" 13" 15" (F stops, Ratio?)

what i am trying to find out how long that represents ("= seconds?)

would be no problem if i had a stop watch :0

ive tried the BOOK no luck

any comments well received

regards john
