Katedrála svatého Víta (HDR)

Hi all,

Here is Katedrála svatého Víta (St. Vitus Cathedral) which is located at Pražskŷ hrad (Prague Castle) in Prague.

I originally took five sub-exposures to create the HDR image, however, one was slightly out of focus (I bumped the camera on the tripod) and the resulting image was blurred. I removed the affected image and re-composed this image.

I'm not overly happy with it, but, thought I'd share it anyway.

Comments and critique welcome.

Regards,
Humayun

Humayun, I thinks its a nice image but can we see the non HDR image so we can compare.

It's great when you get some clouds in these types of shots.

Would even be bettter if you could take a HDR image inside the cathedral.

Tony,

Thanks, mate.

Attached is my 0EV shot. As you can clearly see, the clouds are saturated to the point of being indistinguishable.

I have some more coming soon which really showcase HDRs ability of showing fine detail in clouds.

Humayun

Its definetly an exciting world this HDR imaging, I get the same excitement and anticipation as I did doing Astrophotography because you dont know what your going to get until you have combined them and enhanced.

I love it.

Thanks for sharing and keep them coming would love too see more.

Tony,

I feel /exactly/ the same way as you've described -- it's a great feeling seeing the final image after it's been pre-processed. I find that post-processing HDR images can be hit and miss. You have to be very, very subtle in the changes you apply. Sometimes I ramp up the saturation and it looks great (daytime shots, especially), other times, it looks too artificial (I've noticed this primarily on night time images where the scene is being illuminated by sodium lamps).

More to come, soon.

Regards,
Humayun
