Observational Astronomy Stupidity

Two hours getting everything setup for a nights imaging, balance my side by side mount spot on. Connect up the guidescope, computer, power cords etc.

Wait till it got dark turn on the mount then enter time and date, turn on camera.

Spend the rest of the night wondering why the mount wasn't slewing accurately even after doing a three star alignment.

Take 93 images and did not use the guidescope all night. I wondered if my polar alignment was out even though I'd spent a bit of time getting that right.

Packed up for the night around 9:00 as was getting a bit chilly and I was frustrated with my mount. Dropped one of my counterweights packing up scatched the paint off, just to top off the night.

Went inside downloaded the pictures etc then realised I entered a day earlier on the Synscan handset.

Bugger, that can be so annoying.

Still it's one of those mistakes you only do once and then never forget.

Cheers

Ouch... (especially at that counterweight falling)

Thankfully it didn't hit the foot. Or a thumb.

Else you might end up like this guy:
