For fans of "Band of Brothers", the story of Easy Company from the 101st Airborne and their campaign in Europe from training through to D-Day and beyond, might be excited about a new project by the same team that did Band of Brothers - including Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.
It's called "The Pacific", and follows 3 marines through the pacific campaign in the latter stages of the war, including Guadalcanal, through Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

I absolutely LOVED "Band of Brothers" (have watched it a few times now) and can't wait for this one!
Apparently due for release sometime in 2009, and was filmed in Australia!
