SMC in Narrow Band and HDR

Used the 150mm achro to get this quick and dirty to get an idea of potential signal. The Moon is nearly full so not ideal even for narrow band. There was some haze around after northerly winds all day.

It is a combination of a HA image and an O3 image (both HDR) mapping HA to red and O3 to green and blue.

Looks like a decent amount of very faint nebulosity is being recorded even under these poor conditions.

Looks promising indeed, Bert. I love the globs of nebulosity near the bottom of the frame.

Thanks for the comments Mike and Jeff. Here is an image with colour data taken with the 300mm lens of the SMC added to the NB data. It gives a reasonable idea of what a composite image would look like if I could get some clear nights. Believe it or not the star size of the 300mm lens is about the same as the 100ED with FR/FF or 150mm achro with FR/FF in absolute terms. The only difference they are about half the distance apart in sensor terms with the 300mm lens as compared with the 100ED at 680mm FL.
I have added an image of the same area from the 300mm lens.
