GSO 16 Argo Navis encoder kit now available

When the Guang Sheng Optical (GSO) 16" truss pole Dob was released,
some were asking on this forum about the availability of an Argo Navis
encoder kit for it and I promised to make an announcement as soon as
it became available.

We're proud to say we now have an encoder solution available for this scope
and you can read about it on this web page here -

By clicking on the links for the installation instructions, you can also
see some pictures.

The scopes are currently available in Australia from suppliers such as
York Optical and Bintel.

Well done Gary i cant wait for the modified Trunion to return, The new moon will be an allnighter putting the Argo-Navis through its paces.

Last weekend I went out and purchased also new Toshiba notebook with XP to allow me to use Starry Night in conjunction with the Argo-Navis to give me a better viewing experience.

The Argo-Navis will be an important modification to my GSO 16" and it will compliment all the other stiffening trusses that were added.

I,ll give you a full report Gary after the observation session with Trevor Barry who is also eagerly waiting to to put his Argo-Navis through its paces.

Once again Gary thanks for the great friendly service that you give.

Great to hear you picked up the Toshiba notebook and a copy of Starry Night
Pro. As we spoke about, you will be able to interface Argo Navis to it.

Hi Kev,

Thank you. As I mentioned via email, your trunnion arrived here in Sydney
on Friday afternoon. It has now had a coupler added and it and the other
components in your Argo Navis system are packed and ready and will ship
first thing Monday morning.

Some 'before' and 'after' pictures of your trunnion are attached.

Hope this coming New Moon weekend brings you the clearest of skies.
