General shots at the park

Hi guys just wanted to share some shots I did at wellington Point today.

Wanted to play around with my mates Canon 10-22 and my 70-200.

I hope you like, I particurly like the sun through the trees, I was trying to use a little imagination...was lots of fun.

Those IBIS are ugly.

Nice work Tony. My favourite is the airborne flock of waders – quite a stunning spectacle!

Cheers

Thanks guys,

Dennis have you been out to Wellington Point where you can walk across to king island on low tide, it's been 20 years for me but found it a beutifull place to image and for a picnic.

Thanks for letting me know what those Birds were I didn't have a clue...a Bird is a Bird to me.

I am happy to share my images as long as you can bare looking at them and dont get sick of the continual posting of images... I know I can get a bit carried away with these things.

If you see anything I can do to improve the images let me know all be it camera settings or even processing.

I like #1 and #4 the most Tony, nice work mate.

I'd recommend giving your sensor a blast of air using a rocket blower (not compressed air ), as you can see some sensor dust on these.

Also you may want to invest in a filter for your lens if you haven't already to protect the front element.
I highly recommend the Hoya Super HMC Pro1 UV filter, I always have one on mine.
Some people don't like them because it adds extra glass in the light path but I find they are worth it for piece of mind.

Another filter to keep in mind, especially for this type of imaging, is a Circular Polarising (PL-CIR) filter.
Make sure it's the circular not the linear PL filter.

HI Andrew,

I have both the HMC Pro digital Uv filter and the Circular Polarising,

The bird shots were taken with my 70-200 lense but the other shots were taken with my mates 10-22.

Does it look like the dust is more related to the 10-22 then my camera.

Yes actually it does, I had a close look in PS and didn't notice the dust marks on the 70-200mm shots.

Gotta love that 10-22mm though, huh?
Awesome lens !

its a hella wide lens thats for sure.

I've got the Sigma 12-24 which strangely enough captures a wider field of view than when I use my mates Canon 10-22... figure that out huh... although, the 12-24 shows more distortion....

My favourite is number 3. 36 birds in the one shot that's gotta be an IIS record.

I count 38 with a possible 39th, however with the very narrow focus depth of the 70-200 F/2.8 its hard to tell... It could also be the blurred wing of one of the 38...

(yes, Im bored..)

Ok ok
So I have to take my shoes off to count up to 20.
You can imagine how difficult it is when it gets over 30.
