Skywatcher SW600

I've recently purchased this package (8" Newt + HEQ5Pro) and we're still getting to know each other.

Would be curious to hear from others what's good and bad - might save me stumbling into a few pitfalls.

I'd read an 8" was about as big as you would want on a HEQ5, but was surprised to find both 5kg weights need to be right out for RA balance. Do other people find that? Has anyone been using this setup for photography/guide scopes etc? Will adding Wilcox rings make it harder to maintain good alignment?

Any insights appreciated.

(go easy on me please - no suggestions for EQ6s or 11" SCTs until I've had my scope at LEAST 12 months!)

Rob
