$US prices going up

I suppose it was just a matter of time, with higher fuel prices and metals costs..... eg PME now $US14.5k I expect AP, Losmandy etc will follow suit.

Even camera gear has gone up, as a Canon 300mmF2.8 is now around $US 5k comapred to $US 4k at the beginning of the year...and to cap it off the $A has gone from record highs and lost 10% of its value in a week. Cheesh!

Happy hour is over

Everywhere prices are going up. Now the Aus dollar is falling I see some have bumped prices up straight away.

I think Astro gear bottomed out now it will just get higher.

I think it maybe be better to hang on to your gear or buy now.

The cost of living is hard enough and I soon see astro gear geeting back to whish lists for most.

As a country we may finally become a little more competitive on the world market again. This is good news, not bad.

And I'm travelling there for a holiday in 3 weeks The dollar could have stayed high for just 1 more month!

At least I paid off all of my Astro-Physics bill at a decent exchange rate before the dollar slumped.

Agree whole-heartedly with Omaroo!

And as for concerning holidaying "there" in 3 weeks time...the change in exchange rate is merely $US70 less spending power for every $A1,000 you were going to spend (or $US700 for every $A10,000)...with respect that could easily be re-couped by buying your foreign exchange more judiciously - like several weeks ago
