Moon Halo

Hi all,

There was a beautiful Halo around the Moon for about 30 minutes starting at 12am. I was lucky enough to watch it form and disappear. Amazing!

I will post some pics later, I have got to go catch some zzzz...

Did anyone else see it?

Yes i seen it two nites in a row it looked great
what causes that to do that every now and again i see it quite often here

Hi Jen,

From what I understand, a Halo around the Moon and occasionally the Sun occurs when certain ice crystals in high cirrus clouds form. The light from the Moon or Sun is refracted and reflected creating a lovely Halo.

Beautiful isn't it.
