Congratulations Fred.
Even the boys with the 20 inch RCOS's haven't gotten that sort of detail from M8 before!

Yep have to say, looks really good without the stars!
You only got the APOD cause you use an SBIG of couse
I can take the deepest colour image ever of Centaurus A that the worlds greatest astrophotographer loved but nup, no cigar from those APOD dudes...shame I use an FLI

well, Im overwhelmed by your responses guys, I truley appreciate your replys, Im gunna get sooo drunk tonite, im in heaven , and yes Jase, I am very indebted to your input, your prompting of eliminating the stars was a critical factor in the images success I think, for that I thank you very much indeed.
Mike, bull****, I envy your consistant image quality, you win every comp going, I aspire to your sucsess, cut the crap, cam (gear) dont matter, for example this was with a Meade, go figure . I think this image was more to do with uniquness, not the cam. Your image quality is more than just a cam, and anyway, the FLI aint exactly 2nd class, what are you on about?

Hey, hey only being lighthearted mate
Even Rob Gendler isn't quite sure how the APOD guys choose images (although they feature just abou every image he sends'em), heck they have repeated images only months apart three times this week, so go figure
Now, don't drink too much

Woo Hoo, well done Fred.
I love that image and it's great to see you getting the recognition for it.
I see it's taken with the LX200R as well, there's hope for me as well.
Cheers
