Horsehead AP140
Here is one I took earlier this year. Just looking through my years efforts and the images I liked the best.
I gave it some slight reprocessing.

Have to agree with the green tones of the image, having said that, it has plenty of detail, nice effort indeed.

Thanks for the tips.
I reduced the green bias and got rid of the main green halo around Alnitak.
I wonder if a bit of thin cloud came over when the green filter was going?
Also the Astrodon green filter is the worst one for reflection halos.
I think I am going to switch to Baader LRGB filters plus a clear one for Galaxies. I have some Astronomik type 2c filters as well for an Apogee U16M camera but they don't come with spacers and they are quite a bit thinner than other filters so I can't recommend them for that.
The setup was AP140 with Tak 4 inch flattener at F7, STL 11 class 2 with Astrodon filters on a Tak NJP mount at my dark site observatory. Taken about 4 months ago now.
The AP140 is an amazing scope. So incredibly sharp and zero absolutely zero colour. A real masterpiece of craftmanship.
Greg.

Greg, this is indeed a lovely rendition of this region and I agree I actually don't mind the green tones either
Wish I had an observatory...and a dark site...and a lovely Astrophysics APO..?...oh, I do have one of those!

Incredibly detailed image, a feast for the eyes. I didn't even notice the green tones until they were mentioned, they certainly don't detract from the image.

I would expect nothing else from the AP140. I like the composition Greg. As others have said, I'm also not certain of the green hues throughout the image. Darn those reflections! Rip off the CCD cover slip!

Shere magic Greg. What lovely instruments those astrophysics refractors are.
Its not often you see so much detail below the level of the horsehead itself. Great to see.
The flame is an inferno!

Thanks guys.
Its amazing how many satellites there are up there. Certain areas of the sky seem to have more than others and the Orion area has a lot, so does around Eta Carina.

There's 12000-15000 identifiable pieces of space junk and still working satellites orbiting the Earth, and god knows how many more lurking about we haven't even seen. You know why the scientists say we haven't been visited by ET yet....well there's your reason why. Earth orbit is a safety hazard!!!!
