M20 Again

First image is an hours worth of data with M20 rising.
Second and third images are the sum of 5 hours worth of data from 2 scopes.
The 2nd image is hammered in PS.
The third image is pretty well pure data.
I want to see real images not Photoshop mockups.

Nice and sharp focus mate! what happened to the red?? the blue nebulosity has come through with vivid brilliance but the red centre of the trifid appears almost greyscale..

Yeah, I'm not happy with it either .. It's reprocessing now I didn't realise PS was multi threaded until tonight. Got another 4 hours worth of data to add to it

bringing another 4hrs of data to the table ought to boost the detail somewhat! mmm Multi-threaded image processing... As if own a single core cpu!

Hey Robin, these look great. I'm impressed just how far out that reflection nebula baloons outward

As for photoshop mockups keep in mind that everything we see with camera sensors and scopes is something of an interpretation - colour being the most obvious. Photoshop when used properly just helps bring out preferred detail from among the noise which is what the camera and scope is doing anyway... e.g. I've never seen the triffid look like this below when I view it with the naked eye

I guess so, if it weren't for PS all my images would be a washed out light polluted mess. (attached)

My CLS EOS clip and Baader laser collimination tool arrived this morning so lets see if they improve things. I also have a BCF filter for the camera sensor in the mail as well. Maybe if the camera can see the object better

First light for the CLS filter ought to be interesting!! Considering you had toys arrive today, I guess you are to blame for the bad weather

(I have more toys coming today too.. maybe we share the blame eh?)

Yes my fault, and it's still raining here too
The laser works well, collimination took 2 minutes and it was a mile out.

oh but the question is this.... How do you know the laser was collimated (beam coming out at perfect right angle to the orientation to the shaft) in the first place... ay??? Thats the problem with them...

(I REALLY need to do mine, havent done it in 2mths and its starting to show..)
