US frieght costs

Hi All

I'm looking at purchasing some gear from OPT in the US & I'm not that excited about having to pay US$66.00 in frieght considering the purchase is only a little over 200 bucks

Has anybody landed gear from OPT with cheaper freight costs,
I've bought other gear from different suppliers & Ebay etc. which only cost a few dollars

Cheers
Bryan

How much does the product weight. Try varying suppliers such as Scopestuff or Astronomics. $66 seems a lot for $200 product

I suppose it depends on the weight/size of the goods, last time I ordered from OPT I took the USPS express option and paid USD45 for freight.
Usually I shop around and calculate my total cost including freight before I decide on a supplier. Yes it's a bit of a pain but can save a lot of $$$ as well.

Cheers,

Rob

If you contact OPT they are prepared to quote a cheaper price for postage. The checkout price always quotes UPS express which is expensive, I believe they can also send it via US mail. However using this method it may not be possible to insure it. Anyway contact them and see what they say.

Cheers
Paul

When you go through the check out with OPT you should check the "provide quote" option that they have at that point. They'll get in touch with a better quote generally, with different freight options.

I have purchased equipment from OPT and have used UPS as it is extremely reliable and gives you the ability to track it every bit of the way .
Mind you i bought expensive gear,so i wanted to know where it was all the time.
Email them for cheaper options...or ring them it is just as cheap as a interstate call here in OZ

I have bought quite a bit of stuff from OPT. Send them an email as Paul recommends and ask for a shipping quote - they are always less than the one on the website for the smaller items.

Even with the extra freight costs, it is usually no more than the Oz price and you don't have to wait 6 weeks while the local dealer "orders it in".

Ask them.
I use USPS air, and a typical package from Starlight (Feather Touch) is about $30 - $35. Got a few heater straps etc from Scopestuff (excellent to buy from) and it was $30.
Shop around, there are plenty of great dealers out there.
