Thumbs up Astronomy Book

FWIW. I know it's very late in the year, but because of all the questions posed in here regarding, where can I find this info. ie; Planets, Meteor showers, Occultations, etc.etc.etc. for those that do not know about it, I thought it might just save a few headaches if I posted this info.
There is a publication available called 'Astronomy 2005', at present. It is put out by 'QUASAR Publishing' every year around Nov/Dec. Naturally, next years will be Astronomy 2006. They can be contacted at www.quasarastronomy.com.au or email > info_AT_quasarastronomy.com.au Normal price is about $23.00 but discounts apply for bulk buys. I'm sure a lot know of this, so it's mainly for those who don't.
It's a great instant helper. You just have to pick it up. Assists on Observing nights. Doesn't use any power & is environmentally safe. When renewed, simply donate to your local school?? as a reference book. You never know, you might just spark an interest.
Regards, L

will have a look.....

...looks great... will buy one and yes, the local school will appreciate it!!!

by the way, went to melbourne last weekend and in the city, they have redeveloped what used to be the daimaru center. there is the biggest book and cd centre i have ever seen. It felt like a library. After 20 minutes i finally found the science section ( i spose i could have asked someone ), and then spent 1 hour going thru at least 20 books on astronomy alone. Anyone going to melbourne, it is worth a look as they have books there you would not be able buy elsewhere!

Lightbulb Suggestion for Mikee

I got a free copy from Bintel (thanks Guys) with my LX90 and it's been invaluable. I will be lining up for next years copy.
Hey Mike, if they give discounts for bulk buys, why not arrange an order (2006) for interested IIS members. I would be happy to pay the RRP (+ postage) to IIS and the discount could put towards running the site....
