Hi all
After Mike's fabulous effort on a very deep NGC 5128 area, I reprocessed a shot of it I made last season with the 300mm f2.8 lens from Bert.
8x5 mins ISO 200. uv/ir filter, modded 350D
The 2 lobes are just there I think, but as for the Galactic Cirrus, no cigar for me. Mike hoped his image would inspire others, well it has inspired me. To that end next new moon I will again turn the 300mm lens onto this area, but will use the Hutech LPS filter and hopefully about 4 times the data.
Thanks again to Mike for inspiring us with his incredible image of NGC 5128.
Scott
Yes I can faintly identify the start of the extensions . The Galactic cirrus is fainter than 25mag/arc sec of course so no wonder it isn't showing in this short exposure from suburban skies, even with enhancement.
