Comet Boattini C2007/W1 moves through a rich starfield

Hi all
Heres the deepest yet image ive taken of this comet, taken earlier tonight. I discovered that Iris software has a surefire way of aligning images of a moving comet. instructions here
The more i use Iris the more I love it, and amazingly it is freeware.
Image is 17x2 mins ISO800. I could do no longer subs as comet would trail, its scooting along.
Hutech LPS filter, Baader MPCC, Meade 6 inch f3.6 SN, Hutech modded 350D, each sub guided on stars and aligned, stacked using the above method in Iris, finished off in Photoshop. sattelite went through the last sub.

Thanks.
Winter is great, I can do an imaging session, pack up, and be inside processing it by 8pm
I want to get the 300mm lens onto the comet on Sat night, the astro socities venue at Shortland is a little darker then my place especially to the west, will try and get that elusive ion tail

It's no fun living in the Northern hemisphere when you look at a website like this where most everyone is from the Southern hemisphere - I never get to see all this cool stuff except in your pictures.

oh well, it looks pretty awesome

Very nice Scott!
Looks very similar to my effort from the other night!
That faint Ion trail shall be hard to catch against all those stars.
Although I wasn`t happy with my first go at processing so didn`t get to post it as yet..
cheers Gary
