It might has cost $400M to get to Mars but...

...the Victorian government doesn't seem to have a problem spending more than three times this much to make a train ticket! There may not be intelligent life on Mars, but I don't know that there is a lot in the government either!

I have yet to work out why they just couldn't modify an existing system (eg. London, Singapore etc.). Surely the London system is at least as complex as ours.

it would be instructional to see the project plans and where the delays/cost blow outs are happening.

all governments display some level of incompetence. They are accountable once every 3-4 years and have massive budgets to play with for spin, marketing, etc., and citizens have very short memories or vote on party lines.

oh, and the Collins Class submarines spring to mind when incompetence by governments is raised...

anyway, just my $1.20.

yer but the incompetence of the labor party is just unbelievable. BRING BACK JEFF KENNET! He actually got things done, turned this state right around but with these labor tarts we have now, it's mass incompetence, inaction, its cost blowout after blowout and taxes upon taxes.
