Flight by moonlight

Observed a wonderful moonrise last night during a flight home from the north of WA Just after reaching cruising altitude from my window seat I could see the Moon just above the horizon thinly veiled by a layer of cloud and bathed in deep red light. As it rose further in the sky the colour changed to gold and finally the familiar silvery white, the transformation was amazing. Just after meals had been cleared the cabin lights where dimmed so I could make out some of the brighter stars like Shaula and Kaus Australis but the Moon continued to be such a enchanting sight, its light reflecting off the cloud layers below us and highlighting water courses far below. What a relaxing flight, the ambiance of nature mixed with the sensation of flight ......magnificent

You describe a wonderful and beautiful sight, Stuart! Thanks for sharing.

I haven't flown at night before, I imagine it must be nice when the sky is clear and dark up at that altitude.
