WO FLT-132 and TMB Flattener Question?

Hi Guys,

i know some of you have and use the WO FLT-132, and i was wondering if you also have used the dedicated Field Flattener that is also made by WO.

If so, how does one introduce a 2" Light Pllution Filter into the Imaging Train. There is no info available on the WO site and from looking at the pictures I cannot figure out how it would fit.

To attach the flattener you need to remove the nose piece, which exposes the entire tube. Into this threads the 68mm Flattener. As I use 2" filters, I cannot figure out where it would go.

Any help or links are appreciated.

Cheers
Mark

I note no-one has responded to this so I'll jump in and give it a bump.

The business end of the TMB flattener consists of a regular T-2 thread (M42x.75). This is typically coupled to a camera of choice T-Adapter. It is possible to use a T-2 to 2" nose adapter in which a 2" filter could be mounted, however you'd want to ensure this is low profile as to not increase the overall focal length by too much.

Something like this would probably sort you out - http://www.telescope-service.com/acc...l#fokaladapter

I'm afraid I don't have any pictures of an optical train. There are a few 132 owners here, not sure how many have the TMB flattener.

Thanks Jase,

I was thinking that would be the only way also.

I managed to solve the problem by purchasing a Hutech LPAS Front Filter, which slips inside the camera body. Since its the only filter I really use, it will do for now.

I will have to think of something else once other filters come into play.
