Jupiter - Brisbane, May 5, 1700UT

Finally...some reasonable seeing in Brisbane!!

At the end of a good RGB session with the DMK which will keep me busy processing for most of Monday, I decided to give the ToUcam a little scope time as well.

A solid 7.5/10 for the seeing tonight.

This one's just a quick and dirty through R4 and PS7.

DMK images on the way...after some kip...but I've included a red channel after a quick run thru R4 as well.

It makes for an interesting comparison with the ToUcam pic.

Looking good, Matt. Can't wait to see the final.

Why is the image scale different between the two?

Top stuff Matt - you and Rob are doing a terrific job of keeping Brisbane on the Jupiter map!

Cheers

'Coz I used a 2.5x Powermate with the DMK and the 3x barlow with the ToUcam.....

As I said...the ToUcam image was a last minute decision. I'd packed away the DMK and Powermate together.

They'd have a different image scale even if I used the same Powermate/barlow because of the distance of their respective ccd chips are from the lens, due to different length adapters, and depth of chip in camera casing.

Cheers

Nice piccies, Matt. For a moment I thought I could see one of the Galilean satellites hovering above the disk, but it was me nodding off in front of the computer and a bit of "sleep" in my eyelash!!!
