Eta - Over and out!!!!
Hello all...
I know "another bloomin' Eta" thread is all we need (tell that to our Northern astro-brothers!!!), but this is my last for now...conditions apply(c.u. next year)!!!

I'm posting Eta at 70mm, 280mm and 600mm focal lengths.

Details...
All Canon 40D, Skywatcher SynScan EQ5 mount, autoguided - PHD, Toucam, 80mm Achromat, stacked in Images Plus, processed in PS.
Pic#1 - Canon 70-200mm f4L lens, 70mm @ f4 35mins total.
Pic #2 - Canon 70-200mm f4L lens + Canon EF 1.4x extender, 280mm @ f5.6 70 mins total
Pic #3 - ED80, 600mm @ f7.5 60 mins total

I enjoy the widefield the best, pretty good work I reckon - that lens has produced some great results-

well, well, aint that interesting. Zoom into the same FOV for each, and the ED80 kicks ass IMO, cant beat the tools made for the job.

Yep have to agree Doug although you have made a great effort to post these with different zoom, so to speak, the ED 80 has go my vote as well.

However overall a job well done.

Very interesting sequence Doug, They are all pretty cool but I like the 280mm FL version best and it has the nicest stars to the corner.

for sharpness etc, you must admit the 70-200 is a kick ass lense.
I like the 280mm one myself as like Mike says its quiet sharp right to the corners. Something that the ED80 can`t quiet do by its self.

the 70-200 is indeed razor sharp for any situation..
