It has been a strange silence since I brought up the subject of an counter on my 300D camera installed with the hack firmware. A new development, when I inserted my other CF card it asked if I wanted to install the new firmware, which I did. The result is that I have lost the lock-up mirror usage and the 3200 ISO, however I still have the seconds counter. The counter is not mentioned in the handbook, is it standard anyway on the 300D?

I'm not sure about the seconds counter, I've not come across it.
Shame about the lockup, I've never had a problem with the hack in all the time I've had my camera and I bought it new and installed the hack soon after.
Am I the only one with a 300D that, when you take a manual time exposure, have a counter in the display in between the brackets? I am surprised that no one else knows about that feature.
Sorry I miss understood. I thought you meant a longer countdown timer before firing . Yes I do have the counter for how long the exposure has been going for.
