Powerful GRB Detected

Found this in nature this morning:

This GRB was calculated as 7.5 billion light years away, but had it occurred at the centre of our Milky Way the optical flash would have been as bright as the midday sun!

If one of those went off in our galactic neighbourhood, we'd be toast!
