Hit for six

Wandered down to support the local 3rd grade side for their quest to make the grand final. With six wickets down and still needing fifty odd runs in only thirteen overs, the situation was not looking look. With only one wicket left the winning runs were scored off a mighty six in the last over.

Shot with the D200 and my trusty old 70-200mm ED Nikor and Kenko 2x teleconverter (gives me around 620mm of focal length). ISO 400 and 800th/sec.

Cheers

Nice work, Deeno!

Very nicely timed shots. Did you pre-focus, or use sports mode?

Al.

Thanks Al
Using continious fucus in speed priority mode as the light was changing constantly due to cloud, the aperture would fall to 2.8 when the light was at its lowest. With the camera on the mono pod, breath out holding everything as still as possible and rattle off three shots as the batsman would spring into action.

Apart from a tiny wee bit of sharpening and slight adjustment in contrast, the pics are pretty much how they came out of the camera.

Not as crisp as I'd like, my Kingdom for a fast 600mm lens $$$$$$

Lovely images Deeno. I like how the ball stays in frame.

Well done.

Sorry for the late reply Deeno, I haven't been on for a while.

Great action shots mate, you've done a terrific job indeed and I like how you've kept the ball in the frames too.

Love the second one, bowled out middle stump !

Send us more mate.
