[Withdrawn] : Russian TAL-2M Eq Mount

Another find in my garage I had forgotten about and originally part of a 6" TAL-2M reflector outfit which had never been used. Don't know what happened to the OTA and tripod. This mount is built like a tank and the carry case feels like lifting a bag of cement. I seem to recall that the RA motor is fitted with two clutches which means that it can be overridden by pushing the OTA as well as turning the RA fine adjusting knob. It also has a DEC fine adjust screw on a tangent arm. The counterweight is easily moved up and down the shaft by unturning/turning a collet attached to the weight, very neat.

This mount would easily handle a 10" reflector or larger refractor. The tube rings are about 175mm I.D. and the tripod mounting spigot 100mm O.D. A 15cm ruler is shown in the photo to give some idea of scale.

$250 pick up only.

Cheers,

Steve B

The mount hails from 1996 and appears to run smoothly however I haven't tested it for tracking.
