Saturn 4/3/08

Imaging opportunities have been so scarce the last 3 months that when a hole appears in the clouds I just have to get the gear out no matter the seeing conditions. The seeing was appalling as usual.
Gave me a chance to play around with my processing steps.

This was caught using the spc900 and 5x powermate:
3 mins at 10fps
used Virtualdub to strip out the frames
ninox to center and grade the quality
rgbsplit to split the red, green and blue channels
registax to align each channel
and photoshop to recombine the channels.

The quality of the data probably didn't warrant the extra effort but practice makes perfect.
