Microsoft Worldwide Telescope

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this has been raised before but I only just stumbled across it. Microsoft have been working on an application for a number of years that blends together imagery to produce this view of space. Seems similar to Google Earth's space imagery attempts but somewhat more advanced. If I heard correctly it will be a free download and will be released during the northern hemisphere spring this year. They seem to be pitching it as an educational aid for children but I'm sure eager to get a look at it.

This is a link to a presentation about it: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/224

and this is the website that is the home to the project. Not much info there at the moment. Just a couple of video clips and the Spring 2008 release date.

Cheers,
Greg
