The Inaugural IIS Photography meet (Brisbane)

well, due to a demand, not necessarily a high demand, but i feel that it's there, I'm going to try and organise a photography meet, where we can all gather and discuss ideas, share techniques and hone our skills as Terrestrial photographers.

so, tomorrow morning (saturday, 1st march) i am planning on going down to southbank to watch (photograph) the sunrise and have a wander around southbank in the small hours and early morning light with my camera. anyone is welcome to join.

i propose we meet 4:30am, in front of the QPAC centre.

however, that is fairly early, so please feel free to shoot that meet down, and suggest another

Hi Josh

I can't do a Saturday morning (kids sport), but any other time is usually doable for me. Some other suggestions of places are Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens, Roma Street Parklands, Karawatha Forest, and Boondall Wetlands.

Hey, that's a good idea, i've not seen karawatha forest or the wetlands. So that'd be pretty cool.

Hi Josh

Sounds like a good excuse for an outing – great idea. Can’t make it this weekend, but it would be nice to visit interesting venues for photo shoots.

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Josh,

I've only just seen the post, but couldn't have made it this am anyway, though I'ld be keen on another weekend, but maybe not quite so early as sunrise isn't till 5.40

Regards,

Mike

well, here's the best of what i got saturday morning, i really needed more time to explore southbank a bit more. i reckon another 2 hours would have done it, i felt a bit rushed and forgot a few important details and whatnot while shooting (like levelling the tripod when doing panoramas! lol)

enjoy i spose...

Not bad, Josh.

I quite like the panorama shots. The sunset version is quite evocative and moody

That would be my favorite too, well done. Did any one else turn up?

Josh they're great shots. The 5th one of the walkway is just magical

Put it into slide show and it truly glows

Thanks for the selection

Barb
