Jupiter form tassie

Hi All,

Well the clouds went away, mirror was cooled and so I got up nice and early to do a few runs. Jupiter was around 40 degrees and still in the muck.

I have just caught the GRS coming around the corner and it looks like the white banding that surrounded the GRS last year is smaller??? Maybe there is not enough detail to be sure?

Anyway, this is the kick off to my Jupiter season

Well done Dave, it's a start to the season - hopefully many more to come.

My 2 attempts this year have yielded nothing, so you're way ahead of me.

is your dob driver working ok? When are you getting the EQ6?

thanks mike, even with the kind " $ loan" from a fellow planetary guy, i really needed the Synscan.........it will have to wait until funds are better.

So, this is the upgraded dob driver, with better cooling and larger ALT bearing. I also have swapped birds secondary out and replaced it with my old one. The cats eyes collimators are not too far away.

Well done, Davo

You're off and running.

Still a bit of a wait here up north. Wall to wall cloud.

But the good news is things should start to improve here fairly soon.

Can't wait for April onward, and then conditions should be great around opposition

(Should be )
