Hello from England.

Hello all from a rather cold, snow covered part of England!

I'd just like to first say a big hello to all the members here, but also say well done to the people involved in putting such a good site together!

I first turned my interest of astronomy into a hobby a few years back when I was serving in the Army- looking at spy sat images. I've now had my own 8" Newtonian for a little over a year, so I'm still learning the ropes. As a member of SPA (Society for Popular Astronomy) in the UK, the images your members have been taking are really very good indeed. I'm sure some of this is down to dark sites, but give yourselves all a pat an the back.

Well done!

Kind regards,

Andrew

Thankyou all for your kind welcomes!

M42 and Mars are pretty high in the night sky here at the moment. I've been taking a few images of Orion, but nothing special since I'm still finding my feet.

I'll post something a little later today once baby Louis goes to sleep...

The sky is only clear one or two night a week at the moment. It gets pretty cold too, about -2.

I've been imaging with my DSLR (cannon 350D) for about two months now, so looking forward to picking up some new tips from you all soon!
