Mars finally a break in the clouds

Finally had 1 hr of observing with a rare break in the clouds here in Brizzy.
Had friends over for BBQ tonight and we all got some nice surface detail and a hint of polar cap at 340X using a filter. The seeing was great as we easily resolved the E and F stars in Orion's trapezium. Here's hoping for some better nights coming up for all of us. We need the rain but only during 9-5 Monday to Friday.

Matt.

Great to hear you got a good look at Mars from Brisbane. I saw it naked eye last night and kept thinking that if I got the telescope out cloud would move back in. I'm really hoping for another clearer night tonight.
