ok, it's pouring down, just as I left work, took a few detour's on the way home just to see it all, There's going to be a lot of upset people tomorrow morning.
One guy down the road is trying to get his cars to higher ground but while the water was about waist deep over the road. I have had to drive though a few deep area's, glad I have that petrol guzzling forbie now,
ok, didn't just leave work, that was about 2 hours ago, though it amazes me how stupid people can be, I had one woman tailgating me on the highway I hit a large puddle and nearly lost control she backed of after that thank christ. a few dumped cars, old bombs to be precise.
It's the same over the border. we're getting alot of localised flooding with
dozens of road closures. Our bottom bridge was about to go under last
night as I returned home, I suspect we are trapped by it this morning.
But I have enough supplies to last a couple of weeks if need be so I'm
not to worried... unless I run out of ciggerettes
Flooding here and I can not get up to my dogs..both bridges are under..road closures everywhere, however can make it to Tabulam from here, only in the truck however...car stuck ... the river is not far from here and man is it flowing fast and rising real fast.. in the short time in Tabby it came up so fast... maybe 10 feet in an hour..maybe more...I doubt if it will reach the house here but it will get close... still about 30 feet about it

I saw a few idiots on the news last night ploughing into water across the road.....#1 Its a sure fire way to get water into your motor and do serious engine damage, and #2 AQUAPLANING!!!! Ever heard of it??? Obviously those twits haven't!!!! Not to mention you find out how many holes are in your floor!!!! Wet carpet in a car is really bad!!!!!!
Yup you certainly get the idiots out and about. When I took my boys over
to there mothers on friday it was raining so hard visibility was down to
about 40-50m and people still want to drive right on your tail or taking
stupid chances. We were in a line of cars slowing down to let the head car
turn right off the highway when some idiot in the back thought it was a
good idea to pass us. They only missed the turning car by a matter of
inches.

a little sideways but last night on Topgear the car program, they tried to get 3 vehicles accross a lake by a bit of home modifications, a van which sunk with a small outboard, 4 wheel drive with huge outboard which sunk and finally something like an old austin with sails...... which made it !
you might be needing it from what i saw 360mm rain in 24hrs whew. hope all affected by it are ok
we got a lot of rain on the coast but by looking at the river today inland sure got hammered.. loads of whole trees just heading out to sea ..my son found a mud crab sitting on some water hyiacinth while out surfing today
I was going to post earlier agreeing with you guy's there were two or three
storm cells developing to the west. But now it appears to be breaking up
with big patches of blue
It would be nice to finally give the new scope a whirl. So I'm hopeful... he says
yep severe storm warnings issued... dare I think there might be some clear air behind this tonight, or perhaps some more rain
Man i'd hate to be in your shoes right now, im trying to think of how many mosquitos you're going to get when things finally clear up to get back to observing!
Well I guess I spoke to soon, just try'n to be hopeful We got electrical
storms rolling in from the west, with moderate to heavy falls. You can
see it on the Grafton radar. My yard is already a swamp... mozzies you
say, they're already rocking out here. But I sleep under a mozzie net,
same with the boy's, RID in a can is a splendid thing.
We always have heaps of mozzie's here so thats nothing, long sleeves are the way to save most of your blood, though they can bit through them sometimes, mozzie coil, repellent and any other insect destroying device you can get around is a start, though some still get through.
Even winter we still get them, not as thick though.
