I would like to share my news?

Well I got the Santa Gig at Tabualm again this year..I have been growing my beard so I would not have to wear a fake one but both were of the same size so I wore the fake one using the real one to give it body...
It all went well with all the kids quizzing me..you are Santa arent you? and some when getting their gifts would say.."thanks Alex" looking me in the eye so as to let me know they had me tagged...the kids all know me but many of the adults had to ask the person next to them ..who is Santa..

I arrived and left in the fire truck and I must say it is really something to be the center of attention of all in the small town with everyone waving and cheering...something I never got in Law or Real Estate. The kids mobbed me on the way out and nearly pulled me to the ground ..it was a magic experience seeing so much joy.

We raised some cash for the school with the food and drink sales and a great time was had by all...

So thats my work done for this year and I get 12 months off..great job with excellent fringe benefits.. I would rather be Santa than the PM

Good stuff, Alex. I thought it was going to shape up as one of these kid-tests-out-Santa-beard stories only to find it's real.

Glad it all went well!

Well done Alex

How many kids asked for telescopes, and if none - how many did you try and persuade to forget about their video game console and get a nice dob?

Good stuff Alex, I love the old country town xmas party. We had ours over
in Rappville this afternoon. I love seeing all the kids mugging Santa .
Except ours came on the back of a ute, and was three parts pissed.

regards,CS

Well done Alex , oops I mean Santa. It's always a good feeling to know that you can bring joy and happiness to someone else's lives.

Enjoy your time off and look forward to more Santa mayhem next year.

Good one Santa.
You're a hero.
When I was living in Cairns, we used to have Tropical Santa. He wore red shorts and a short sleeve red shirt. All trimmed with white fluffy stuff. Practical really in the heat.

Thank you all for understanding my happiness and the fact I wanted to share the experience even if it is not astronomy related.
Merry Chrismas to all.

What's happening to children these days, Alex? Surely they should have addressed you as Mr Alex?

A 'well done' to you and the local brigade, old son. Nice to see you managed to raise a few bob for the local school too.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all of you in the wilds of Tabulam.

Well done Alex. I've never done the Santa thing (Beardless and too thin LOL), but I did do a Clown thing one time passing out lollies to kids at the Geraldton Sunshine Festival, and it was great fun. Keeping that childhood magic alive is what its all about.

Good stuff, Alex!!!

It is a buzz, ain't it. You get to see all those beaming smiles, and hugs from the littlies.

I did my Carols by Candlelight 'Santa' last night, and tomorrow night (Monday night) I'm doing Santa again on the fire truck driving all round our town chucking lollies out

It's a great way to spend a few hours, making kids happy

I am "Alex" to all even my daughter calls me so.
However if a group of kids see me at the shops they always call out "black Santa, black Santa" (an all year occurence) leaving those nearby wondering what the heck they are talking about... I wear black exclusively because the colours dont run during my laundry process... a slow boil of everything I wear for a couple of hours on an open fire.

Thanks John and I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.

Happiness is a state of mind that can only be achieved by the unconditional helping of others.

Good on you Alex.

great stuff alex It really is something special you did which makes everyone ,santa included ,very happy... I have a pic of my son (about 8 years old ) sitting on santas knee ..looking quite worried ,he had no idea who santa was .. my youngest standing back a little with his mother picked me right away .I spoke to a friends daughter that day and adressed her by her name which pretty much shocked her as she was a little shy of the guy in red.. after a bit of head scratching I asked her it was still a bike she needed for x-mass.. she was completely stunned that santa would actaually know this stuff .. mind you her bike was in my garage waiting to be picked up later
