Hi donr,

Can you detail the version of SkyScan on the mount?

Cheers

Hi Robert
It is the early version - 2.04 I think. It is not the new upgradeable version - but don't be put off by that. The accuracy and useability of the HC is no better with the newer version. - I have had objects tracking for long periods at astro nights with no need to touch the mount even for high magnification planetary viewing.

Well worth buying

You could do a lot worse than buying a HEQ5Pro!!
Believe me! I've been using one for the last year or so, V2 firmware. 6" Cometseeker mounted parallel to an ED80. Survived the relocation to the UK and now has to get used to freezing, cold and wet conditions, runs under The Sky/ AstroPlanner and can accept the ST-4 guider......
Solid as the proverbal building! It definately grows on you.

Yes they are a great little mount - a bit like the "little engine that could". It is a reluctant sale as the mount has been so great. I have purchased a secondhand CGE - a bit like the "BIG brother that could". I was considering keeping the HEQ5 as more a portable unit but I will invest the $$$ in other bits. Don
