First Light after a abit of a break...

Hi Guys,

went back to a Modded 350D with the baader UV/IR filter replacement.
This was taken last night with the NGT-10" F4.7 using the IDAS LPS filter. Exposures were 10 x 5 minutes at ISO 400.

One thing I noticed, it seems my old modded canon 300D captures more HA and details than this modded 350d? no idea.... maybe because of the IDAS LPS filter? will do more testing with and without this filter later on down the track.

Overall, not that impress with this image as i have done better ones in the past of the tarantula.

Cheers.

cheers ken. The tarantula is meant to look greenish brown in colour. Brad moore's is a fine example of what the tarantula nebula colour should look like. . i see others looking purple or bluish in colour but i don't think that is the true colour of NGC2070.

Good to see you back at it Eric... and a fine re-entrance it is. You've done an excellent job managing the colours and contrast on this target. A visual feast in all aspects. Well done.

Wow looks great to me! I'm surprised you sold your modded 300D simply for a modded 350D.. I thought maybe a cooled modded 5D or something might be next

Anyway I'm glad to see you imaging again, I really enjoy your shots.

I hope you didn't take me wrong, Eric. The image is great.
I usually see the Taratula in the pinks and reds or blues as others have said.
Not that yours is wrong, just different to what I am used to seeing, that is why I said 'strange colours'.

lol i was in a stage which i couldn't decide whether to get the modded 40D. Ive been using DSLR Focus and so use to it thus that is one reason why i want to go back to a 350d as well as my autoguiding thing from shoestring.

lol, thanks houghy. why is that 350d has better colours than a 300d? wouldn't colour balancing fix this?

Your images are always very good Eric. I think the better you get the higher your expectations and the more self critical you become otherwise there would be no reason to continue !

Well done !
