Synscan and GOTO accuracy

Dear All
I have found my synscan to be very accurate with it's gotos as long as I use the database on the synscan. When I connect the mount to skymap pro and display the position of the scope after I have slewed via the controller it seems to be a bit off.
e.g. I finished my 3 star align with the star "peacock" and then connected the computer and the cross hairs are out by some arcmins.
I looked at the coordinates for the star and found that the synscan uses epoch J2000 coordinates but Skymap uses the epoch of the date. If I change the date in Skymap to yr 2000 then they line up perfectly.
The relevance of this is that if you use the computer to slew to an object it doesn't centre the object unless you change the date to 2000.
Another vagary of the system ;>)
